Activating the Agency of Vulnerable Communites Through Love & Resilience

About Us / Our Mission

At JMCG, our foundation is love—mapenzi in Swahili—and it shapes everything we do.
We don’t “serve the vulnerable.” We stand with communities who’ve been systemically excluded, under-resourced, and impacted by trauma. We believe in their brilliance, and we build spaces where that brilliance can thrive.

Our Mission

To activate the agency of individuals and communities through trauma-informed workforce development, equity-rooted technical assistance, and healing-centered coaching. We build strategies that honor lived experience, transform systems from the inside out, and hold space for both personal power and collective liberation.

We do this by offering:

  • Trauma-informed career coaching
Supporting people impacted by systemic harm in reclaiming their voice and direction

  • Workforce and rebranding support
Grounded in dignity, narrative justice, and real-world readiness

  • Community violence prevention and healing
Building ecosystems of care through CVI-aligned strategy, trauma awareness training, and wellness circles

  • Community-driven technical assistance
Equipping nonprofits and partners with strategy, facilitation, and impact storytelling that reflect the people they serve

Our Vision

We envision a world where people don’t have to fight to be seen—where communities have the power, tools, and resources to build the futures they deserve. Where love is strategy, healing is non-negotiable, and workforce development becomes a path to collective liberation—not survival.

“We don’t build resumes. We build pathways. We co-create change—with love, with clarity, and with a commitment to never leaving the margins behind.”
— Aaron Mapenzi-Johnson, Chief Managing Officer
